Pixelscan is a diagnostic tool that checks how visible and trackable your proxy or VPN connection is to websites. You visit the site, click a button, and within seconds it runs a battery of tests across your browser fingerprint, IP information, VPN configuration, DNS routing, and bot detection patterns. It then shows you the results: whether your VPN is leaking your real IP, whether your DNS queries are leaking, how unique your browser fingerprint is, and whether you appear to be a bot. The entire service is free, requires no registration, no account creation, and no data is stored or logged. Once you leave the page, your test results are gone.

The motivation behind Pixelscan is straightforward. If you're running a proxy or VPN specifically to hide your identity or location from websites, you want to know whether it's actually working. Websites have many ways to detect a proxy besides looking at your IP address alone. They can check whether your browser's reported language and timezone match your IP's geolocation. They can analyze your browser fingerprint, looking for signs of antidetect browsers or automation. They can run WebRTC leak tests to see if your real IP leaks through your browser's peer connection. They can check for DNS leaks where your actual DNS resolver betrays your real location. The fingerprint check analyzes your browser's attributes: the user agent, screen resolution, installed fonts, WebGL capabilities, canvas fingerprint, and dozens of other properties that web pages collect to build a unique profile of your browser. Pixelscan scores how unique your fingerprint is on a scale, helping you understand how identifiable you are by fingerprinting alone. The VPN check tests whether your VPN is actually masking your IP. The IP blacklist check scans whether your current IP is flagged as a proxy, VPN, datacenter, or botnet IP in various public and private blocklists. Many websites check against these lists to reject obvious proxies. If your IP is flagged, some websites will block you even if your other indicators look clean. Pixelscan shows you which lists have flagged your IP, helping you understand what level of detection you're facing.

The WebRTC leak test exploits a browser vulnerability that can leak your real IP through WebRTC connections used for video calls and peer-to-peer communication. Even if your VPN masks your IP in all other traffic, a WebRTC connection can peer directly to the internet and reveal your actual IP. This is a known leak vector that many proxy and VPN users don't realize exists. Pixelscan tests for it.

The bot detection check analyzes your browser for signs of automation. Modern websites use bot detection libraries like Cloudflare's, PerimeterX, and others to identify automated traffic and block bots. Pixelscan reports high accuracy on its claims. The site states a 99.95 percent accuracy rate and reports over five million scans performed. These numbers are not independently verified, but the tool's checks are objective and technical in nature, so high accuracy is plausible. A leak test either detects a leak or it doesn't. A bot detection check either flags automation patterns or it doesn't.

The data retention policy is a core selling point. Pixelscan explicitly states that test results are not stored, not linked to any identity, and not logged. Your test results disappear when you leave the page. This is important for privacy-conscious users who don't want their proxy configuration testing itself logged somewhere. The transparency on this point is valuable.

One limitation is that Pixelscan is purely a diagnostic tool. It tells you what's leaking and what isn't, but it doesn't fix problems. If you discover a DNS leak, Pixelscan doesn't help you configure your VPN to use encrypted DNS. If your browser fingerprint looks too unique, Pixelscan doesn't help you randomize it (though an antidetect browser would). If your IP is flagged in blocklists, you'll need to switch to a different IP. Pixelscan is the check, not the remedy.
